Playstation 4 - It's Announced!

Playstation 4 (PS4) is the upcoming video game console to be released from Sony Computer Entertainment. The successor to the Playstation 3 (PS3) was announced at this February's E3 conference at 6pm PST (that's 2am in GMT which yes, I stayed up for!), it will launch this 15th November in the USA and 29th November in Europe and Australia. It's up against some tough competition such as Microsoft's Xbox One and Nintendo's Wii U, as part of the 8th generation of video gaming consoles. 

Lead system architect on the PS4, Mark Cerny, said "the developement of this next generation console started about 5 years ago" and that it's goal is "freeing developers from the technological barriers." Cerny has a history in the video game industry dating back more than 30 years, first with Atari and later with companies like Sega of Japan and Universal Interactive Studios. Here's a trailer that Sony released following the successful E3 conference.
